And having met together with the elders and taken counsel, they gave large mony to the soldiers,

And hearing it they were glad, and promised to give him mony. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him.

Said, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him to you?

Then Judas who had betrayed him, seeing that he was condemned, repenting himself, brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, Saying, I have sinned, in betraying innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? See thou to it. And having thrown down the pieces of silver in the temple, he withdrew and went and hanged himself. read more.
And the chief priests taking the pieces of silver, said, It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood. And having consulted together, they bought with them the potters field, to bury foreigners in. Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood unto this day. Then was fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value,

And they were glad and agreed to give him money.
