When they came to Capernaum, the collectors of the half-shekel tax went up to Peter and said, "Does not your teacher pay the temple tax?"

Let the one who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches.

Now concerning the collection for the saints: as I directed the churches of Galatia, so you must also do.

and they sold their possessions and goods and distributed them to all, as anyone had need.

For there was not a needy person among them, For all who were owners of land or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of the sales and laid it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed to each as any had need.

And the disciples determined, each according to his ability, to send relief for the brethren living in Judea. And this they did, sending it to the elders by Barnabas and Saul.

For I do not mean that others should be eased and you burdened; but at the present time your abundance should supply their need, so that their abundance may supply your need, that there may be equality. As it is written, "He who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack."
