Therefore God led them about through the wilderness that bordereth on the reed sea. The children of Israel went harnessed out of the land of Egypt.

and I brought your fathers out of Egypt. And ye came unto the sea: and the Egyptians followed after your fathers with chariots and horsemen, unto the reed sea.

But when Israel came out of Egypt, they walked through the wilderness, even unto the reed sea, and came to Kadesh,
