The perverse in heart are abomination to Jehovah; but they that are perfect in their way are his delight.

A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will not know evil. Whoso secretly slandereth his neighbour, him will I destroy; him that hath a high look and a proud heart will I not suffer.

Every proud heart is an abomination to Jehovah: hand for hand, he shall not be held innocent.

He that hath a perverse heart findeth no good; and he that shifteth about with his tongue falleth into evil.

And it shall come to pass, when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and upon Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stoutness of heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.

I Jehovah search the heart, I try the reins, even to give each one according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.

For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because thou hast clapped the hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced with all the despite of thy soul against the land of Israel; therefore behold, I will stretch out my hand upon thee, and will give thee for a spoil to the nations; and I will cut thee off from the peoples, and I will cause thee to perish out of the countries: I will destroy thee, and thou shalt know that I am Jehovah.
