18 Bible Verses about Death Of The Righteous

The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.

For whether we live, we live to the Lord; and whether we die, we die to the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.

And I heard a voice from heaven, saying to me, Write, Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from henceforth: Verily, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works follow them.

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labor: yet what I shall choose I know not. For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:

But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.

The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.

He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.

Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by angels into Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died, and was buried:

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me at that day: and not to me only, but to all them also that love his appearing.

Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shown me.

Into thy hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.

And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.

And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he expired.

But go thou thy way till the end: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.

For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our house which is from heaven: If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.
