And there was a certain beggar, named Lazarus, which lay at his gate full of sores, desiring to be refreshed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's board. And it fortuned that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: The rich man also died, and was buried in hell. And being in hell, in torments, he lift up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom; And he cried and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue, for I am tormented in this flame.' But Abraham said unto him, 'Son remember, that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy pleasure, and contrariwise, Lazarus pain. Now therefore is he comforted, and thou art punished. Beyond all this, between you and us there is a great space set, so that they which would go from hence to you, cannot: neither may come from thence to us.' Then he said, 'I pray thee therefore father, send him to my father's house. For I have five brethren: for to warn them, lest they also come into this place of torment.' Abraham said unto him, 'They have Moses and the prophets: let them hear them.' And he said, 'Nay, father Abraham, but if one came unto them from the dead they would repent.' He said unto him, 'If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they believe, though one rose from death again.'"

And Jesus cried with a great voice and said, "Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit." And when he thus had said, he gave up the ghost.

And they stoned Stephen, calling on and saying, "Lord Jesus receive my spirit."

And they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus, and thou shalt be saved and thy household."

Then as her soul was departing, that she must die: she called his name Benoni. But his father called him Benjamin.

As soon as Jesus had received of the vinegar, he said, "It is finished," and bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

And Jesus said unto him, "Verily I say unto thee, today shalt thou be with me in paradise."

This say I brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. Neither doth corruption inherit uncorruption. Behold, I show a mystery unto you: we shall not all sleep: but we shall all be changed, and that in a moment, and in the twinkling of an eye, at the sound of the last trumpet. For the trumpet shall blow, and the dead shall rise incorruptible: And we shall be changed.read more.
For this corruptible must put on incorruptibility: and this mortal must put on immortality. When this corruptible hath put on incorruptibility: and this mortal hath put on immortality: then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, "Death is consumed into victory." "Death where is thy sting? Hell where is thy victory?"

I would not, brethren, have you ignorant concerning them which are fallen asleep, that ye sorrow not as others do which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died, and rose again: even so them also which sleep by Jesus, will God bring again with him. And this say we unto you in the word of the Lord, that we which live and are remaining in the coming of the Lord, shall not come before they which sleep.read more.
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, and the voice of the archangel, and trump of God. And the dead in Christ shall arise first: then shall we which live and remain, be caught up with them also in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Or dust be turned again unto earth from whence it came, and or the spirit return unto God, which gave it.

This said he. And after that he said unto them, "Our friend Lazarus sleepeth, but I go to wake him out of sleep."
