Jehovah's Spirit left Saul, and a distressing spirit sent by Jehovah tormented him. His servants said to him: We know that a distressing spirit sent by God is tormenting you. So give us the order and we will look for a man who knows how to play the harp. Then when the distressing spirit comes on you, the man can play his harp, and you will be all right again.

The next day Jehovah let a distressing spirit take control of Saul. He began acting like a crazy man inside his house. David came to play the harp for Saul as usual. This time Saul had a spear in his hand. Saul balanced the spear in his hand and said: I will give David a blow! I will pin him to the wall. David got away from him twice.

One night, David was in Saul's home, playing the harp for him. Saul sat there with a spear in his hand. The distressing spirit from Jehovah took control of him. Saul tried to pin David to the wall with his spear. David dodged it, and Saul's spear struck the wall. David escaped from Saul that night.

A woman of Canaan came crying and saying: Have pity on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is greatly troubled with an unclean spirit.

Lord, have mercy on my son. He has mental problems and is in great pain. He frequently falls into the fire and into the water.

The spirit seizes him and slams him down. He foams at the mouth and grinds his teeth. I asked your disciples to cast it out but they could not do it. Jesus then said: O faithless generation. How long will I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring him to me. They brought the boy to him. Suddenly the spirit threw him into convulsions. When he came near the demon slammed him down and through him in to a convulsion. Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, healed the boy and gave him back to his father.

Day and night in the tombs and in the mountains he cried out. He would cut himself with stones.

Those who were troubled with unclean spirits were healed.

A woman had an evil spirit that kept her sick for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not stand straight.

Crowds came from the cities near Jerusalem. They brought sick people and people with unclean spirits and everyone of them was healed.

The man who had the evil spirit jumped on them, and overpowered them. He gave them such a beating that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
