But the Pharisees seeing it said to him, Behold thy disciples do what it is not lawful to do on the sabbath. How he entered into the house of God, and ate the shew-bread, which it was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them who were with him, but only for the priests? Or have ye not read in the law, that on the sabbath-days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath and are blameless? But I say to you, That one greater than the temple is here. How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do good on the sabbath-day. Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, as the other.
And Jesus went into the temple, and cast out all that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the mony-changers, and the seats of them that sold doves; And saith to them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer, but ye have made it a den of thieves.
And there were present at that season, some that told him of the Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
