In meekness instructing those that oppose them; if God perhaps will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

Take heed unto yourself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this you shall both save yourself, and them that hear you.

But these are written, that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you might have life through his name.

For since in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good behavior in Christ.

Holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to refute the opposition.

If you put the brethren in remembrance of these things, you shall be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, which you have attained.

Hold fast the pattern of sound words, which you have heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. That good thing which was committed unto you keep by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.

And the things that you have heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
