As a man, going into another country, leaves his house, and gives authority to his servants, and to each one his own work, and commands the door-keeper to watch;

To him the door-keeper opens; and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out.

But Peter stood without near the door. Then the other disciple, who was acquainted with the chief priest, went out and spoke to the door-keeper, and brought Peter in. Then the maid-servant who kept the door said to Peter: Are you not also one of the disciples of this man? He said: I am not.

Therefore Jesus spoke again to them: Verily, verily I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.

And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia, write: These things says he that is holy, he that is true, he that has the key of David, he that opens and no man shuts, and shuts and no man opens; I know your works: behold, I have set before you an open door that no one is able to shut, because you have a little strength, and have kept my word, and have not denied my name.
