And the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: who spoke unto David, saying, Except you take away the blind and the lame, you shall not come in here: thinking, David cannot come in here.

And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, You shall not come here. Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion, which is the city of David.

So Hushai David's friend came into the city, and Absalom came into Jerusalem.

And when he came into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?

And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Teacher says, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at your house with my disciples.

And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man who had not on a wedding garment:

Then let them who are in Judea flee to the mountains; and let them who are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the country enter into it.

And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what will you have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told you what you must do.

However, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.
