18 Bible Verses about Examining Yourself

How many are my iniquities and sins? Make known my transgressions and my sin.

Tremble, and sin not; speak within your own heart on your bed and be still. Selah.

When I kept silence, my bones became old through my roaring all the day long. For by day and by night Your hand was heavy on me; my sap is turned into the droughts of summer. Selah. I confessed my sin to You, and my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, I will confess my transgression to Jehovah; and You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

I remember my song in the night; I speak with my own heart, and my spirit carefully searches.

I thought on my ways, and turned my feet to Your testimonies.

Surely after I was turned, I repented; and after I was taught, I struck on my thigh. I was ashamed, yea, I even blushed, because I bore the disgrace of my youth.

Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to Jehovah.

Again, when the wicked turns away from his wickedness that he has committed and does that which is lawful and righteous, he shall save his soul alive. Because he looks carefully, and turns away from all his sins that he has committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die.

For this cause many among you are weak and sickly, and many sleep. For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged.

Since you seek a proof of Christ speaking in me (who is not weak toward you, but is powerful in you; for even if He was crucified out of weakness, yet He lives by the power of God. For indeed even we are weak in Him, but we shall live with Him by the power of God toward you), examine yourselves, whether you are in the faith, prove your own selves. Do you not know your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you, unless you are reprobates?

But let each one prove his own work, and then he alone will have a boast in himself, and not in another.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

that if our heart accuses us, God is greater than our heart and knows all things. Beloved, if our heart does not accuse us, we have confidence toward God.

Hypocrite! First cast the beam out of your own eye, and then you shall see clearly to cast the splinter out of your brother's eye.

But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread and drink of that cup.

examine yourselves, whether you are in the faith, prove your own selves. Do you not know your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you, unless you are reprobates?
