And ye masters, do the same things to them, easing up the threats, knowing also that the master of you yourselves is in the heavens, and there is no partiality from him.

To have respect of persons is not good, nor that a man should transgress for a piece of bread.

And when the day came that Elkanah sacrificed, he gave to Peninnah his wife, and to all her sons and her daughters, portions, but to Hannah he gave a double portion, for he loved Hannah, but LORD had shut up her womb.

Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his sons, because he was the son of his old age. And he made for him a coat of many colors. And his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers. And they hated him, and could not speak peaceably to him.

And he took [and sent] portions to them from before him, but Benjamin's portion was five times so much as any of theirs. And they drank, and were merry with him.
