Now there was in Joppa a certain disciple, Tabitha by name, (which being translated means Dorcas): this woman was full of good works and alms which she was accustomed to do. And it came to pass in those days that she, having become sick, died; and, having washed her, they laid her in an upper chamber. And, Lydda being near to Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent to him two men, entreating him, "Delay not to come to us!"read more.
And Peter, having arisen, went with them; whom, having come, they led up into the upper chamber; and there stood by him all the widows, weeping and showing coats and garments which Dorcas made while she was with them.

And Jesus, having come into the house of the ruler, and seeing the flute-players and the multitude making a tumult,

And, going forward, He touched the bier; and those bearing it stood still; and He said, "Young man, I say to you, Arise!"

And, taking it down, he wrapped it in fine linen, and placed Him in a tomb, hewn in a stone, where no one was yet laid.

And, taking the body, Joseph wrapped it in clean linen,

And he, having brought linen cloth, and having taken Him down, wrapped Him in the linen cloth, and laid Him in a tomb which had been hewn out of a rock; and he rolled a stone against the door of the tomb.

So they took the body of Jesus, and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as the custom of Jews is to bury. Now in the place where He was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had yet been laid. There, therefore, on account of the Preparation of the Jews (because the tomb was near), they laid Jesus.
