5 Bible Verses about Gall

Though the lips of the forbidden woman drip honey
and her words are smoother than oil,
in the end she’s as bitter as wormwood
and as sharp as a double-edged sword.

You know the insults I endure—
my shame and disgrace.
You are aware of all my adversaries.
Insults have broken my heart,
and I am in despair.
I waited for sympathy,
but there was none;
for comforters, but found no one.
Instead, they gave me gall for my food,
and for my thirst
they gave me vinegar to drink.

When they came to a place called Golgotha (which means Skull Place), they gave Him wine mixed with gall to drink. But when He tasted it, He would not drink it.

I was at ease, but He shattered me;
He seized me by the scruff of the neck
and smashed me to pieces.
He set me up as His target;
His archers surround me.

and pours my bile on the ground.
