While he stifled his compassion;
His anger also tore continually,
And he maintained his fury forever.
But he was unwilling and went and threw him in prison until he should pay back what was owed.
Likewise a Levite also, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.
And their bows will mow down the young men,
They will not even have compassion on the fruit of the womb,
Nor will their eye pity children.
So his fellow slave fell to the ground and began to plead with him, saying, ‘Have patience with me and I will repay you.’
Jesus replied and said, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, and they stripped him and beat him, and went away leaving him half dead. And by chance a priest was going down on that road, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. Likewise a Levite also, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.
