And he answering said to his father, Lo! for so many years have I served thee, and never transgressed thy command; and yet to me thou never gavest a kid, that I might make merry with my friends.

And I saw when he had opened the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the whole moon became as blood,

not with the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood, and obtained for us everlasting redemption. But in these sacrifices there is a remembrance of sins every year. For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins.
