But they slighting it, went one to his farm, another to his merchandise. And the rest laying hold on his servants, treated them shamefully and slew them. And the king hearing it was wroth, and sending forth his troops, destroyed those murderers and burnt their city. Then saith he to his servants, The marriage-feast is prepared, but they who were invited were not worthy. Go ye therefore into the highways, and invite whomsoever ye find to the wedding-banquet. So those servants going out into the highways, gathered together all whomsoever they found, both bad and good. And the feast was abundantly supplied with guests.

Then said he to him, A certain man made a great supper and invited many. And he sent his servants at supper time to say to them that were invited, Come, for all things are now ready. And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said to him, I have bought a field, I must needs go and see it: I pray thee, have me excused.read more.
And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused. And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come. So the servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the disabled, and the lame, and the blind. And the servant said, Sir, it is done as thou hast commanded; and yet there is room. And the lord said to the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. For I say to you, that none of those men who were invited, shall taste of my supper.
