Then one of the elders addressed me and said, "Who are these people clothed in white robes, and where did they come from?" I answered him, "You know, my lord." He said to me: "These are the people who are coming through the great persecution, who have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. This is why they are before the throne of God, and day and night serve Him in His temple, and He who is seated on His throne will shelter them in His tent.
Jesus said to them: "I solemnly say to you, in the new order of life, when the Son of Man shall take His seat on His glorious throne, you too, who have followed me, will sit on twelve thrones, and judge the twelve tribes of Israel.
Then the King will say to those at His right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, take possession of the kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world.
Do you not know that we Christians are to sit in judgment on angels, to say nothing of the ordinary cases of life?
"If we patiently endure, we will reign with Him too. If we disown Him, He will disown us too.
Let us, therefore, be thankful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and in this way continue to serve God acceptably in reverence and fear;
To him who conquers and continues to the very end to do the works that please me, I will give authority over the heathen; he will govern them with a scepter of iron and shatter them like earthen jars -- just such authority as I have received from my Father --
I will give to him who conquers the privilege of taking his seat with me on my throne, just as I have conquered and taken my seat with my Father on His throne.
Blessed and holy is the man who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death will have no power, but they will be priests of God and Christ, and reign with Him the thousand years.
