And Jesus passing along from thence, saw a man sitting at the toll, called Matthew; and He says to him, Follow me. And having arisen up, he followed Him.

And passing along, he saw Levi, the son of Alpheus sitting at the toll, and says to him, Follow me. And rising up, he followed Him.

And He spoke this, signifying by what death he shall glorify God. And having spoken this, He says to him, Follow me.

And He spoke to all, If any one wishes to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

And many multitudes were journeying along with Him, and turning He said to them, If any one comes to me, and does not hate his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, and even yet his own soul, he is not able to be my disciple. Whosoever does not carry his cross, and come after me, is not able to be my disciple.

Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, I am the light of the world: the one following me can not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of the life.

If any one may minister unto me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall my minister be: if any one may minister unto me, the Father will honor him.

And Jesus says to him, If I wish him to tarry until I come, what is that to thee?
