Going, disciple all nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost:
And a dispute came in among them, as to which one of them might be the greater.

And it came to pass, when Jesus finished teaching His twelve disciples, He departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities.

If any one comes to me, and does not hate his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, and even yet his own soul, he is not able to be my disciple.
And His disciples coming, said to Him; Wherefore do you speak to them in parables?
Then when He arose from the dead, His disciples remembered that He said these things, and believed the Scripture and words which Jesus spoke.
Then Jesus said to the Jews, who believed on Him, If you may abide in my word, you are truly my disciples;
His disciples say to Him, If the cause of a man with his wife is thus, it is better not to marry.
And it came to pass on one of the days, He and His disciples went into a ship. And He said to them, Let us go to the other side of the lake. And they were embarked.
Moreover from this many of His disciples went back, and walked with Him no more.

And John hearing in the prison the works of Christ, sending two of his disciples,
Then that word went out to the brethren that that disciple does not die. And Jesus did not say to him, that he does not die; but, If I wish him to tarry until I come.
And arriving in Jerusalem, he was endeavoring to join himself to the disciples: and all were afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple.
At that time Jesus went on the Sabbath through the cornfields; and His disciples were hungry, and began to pluck the ears, and eat.
Whosoever does not carry his cross, and come after me, is not able to be my disciple.
And calling His twelve disciples, He gave them power over unclean spirits, so as to cast them out, and heal every disease, and every malady.
And another of His disciples said to Him, Lord, permit me first to go away and bury my father.
And Jesus calling His disciples to Him, said, I sympathize with the multitude, because already three days abide unto me, and they have nothing which they may eat; I do not wish to send them away fasting, lest they may faint on the road.
And I brought him to thy disciples, and they were not able to heal him.
Jesus turning and seeing them following, says to them, What are you seeking? and they said to Him, Doctor, (which is said, being interpreted, Teacher), where dwellest thou?
And the disciples James and John, seeing, said, Lord, do you wish that we may command fire to descend from heaven and consume them?
And He said to the disciples, The days will come, when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and will not see it.
And He calls the twelve to Him, and began to send them out two by two; and He gave them authority over unclean spirits.
Simon Peter says to them, I go to fish. They say to Him, We also go along with you. They went out, and entered into a ship, and that night caught nothing.
And He says to them, Follow after me, and I will make you fishers of men.
And John responded to Him saying, Teacher, we saw one casting out demons in Thy name, who does not follow us; and we forbade him, because he does not follow us.
And another said to Him, Lord, I will follow thee; but first permit me to bid adieu to those at my own home.
Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael the one from Cana of Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples, were together.
And He was in the stern, sleeping on a pillow: and they awaken Him, and say to Him; Teacher, is there no care to thee that we perish?

He says to Him, Yes, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee as a friend. He says to him; Feed my lambs. Again He says to him a second time, Simon, the son of Jonah, do you love me with divine love? He says to Him; Thou knowest that I love thee as a friend. He says to him; Shepherdize my sheeplings. He says to him a third time; Simon, the son of Jonah, do you love me as a friend? Peter was grieved, because He said to him the third time, Do you love me as a friend? And he says to Him, Lord, thou knowest all things; and thou dost understand that I love thee as a friend. Truly, truly, I say unto you, When you were young, you girded yourself, and walked about where you wished: but when you get old, you will reach forth your hands, and another will lead you, where you do not wish. And He spoke this, signifying by what death he shall glorify God. And having spoken this, He says to him, Follow me.
Thus then every one of you who does not consecrate all his possessions, is not able to be my disciple.
Therefore every one who shall confess me before the people, I will also confess him before my Father, who is in the heavens. But whosoever may deny me before the people, I will also deny him before my Father who is in the heavens. Think not that I came to send peace on the earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. read more.
For I came to divide a man against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law: and the enemies of a man will be the inmates of his own house. He that loveth father and mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. Whosoever does not take his cross and follow after me, is not worthy of me. The one having found his soul shall lose it; and the one losing his soul for my sake shall find it.
