And beginning from Moses, and all the prophets, he explained to them, in all the Scriptures, the things concerning himself.
This beginning of signs Jesus made in Cana of Galilee, and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed on him.
And they said one to an other, Did not our heart burn within us while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

And it came to pass, as he was in a certain place praying, that, when he ceased, one of his disciples said to him: Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. And he said to them: "When you pray, say, Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done, as in heaven, so on earth. Give us, day by day, the bread sufficient for our support;read more.
and forgive us our sins, for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
And he said to them: To you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are without, all things are done in parables; that they may surely see, and not perceive; and that they may surely hear, and not understand; lest they should turn to me, and their sins should be forgiven them.
But without a parable he did not speak to them; but when alone, he explained all things to his disciples.
And he turned to his disciples, and said privately: Blessed are the eyes that see what you see. For I say to you, that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, and did not see; and to hear what you hear, and did not hear.
And he said to them: Come yourselves privately into a desert place, and rest awhile. For there were many coming and going, and they had not leisure even to eat.
From that time Jesus began to tell his disciples plainly, that he must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders, and the chief priests, and the scribes, and be put to death, and be raised again the third day.
