because that, knowing God, they glorified him not as God, neither gave thanks; but became vain in their reasonings, and their senseless heart was darkened.

In the pride of the wicked the poor is hotly pursued; Let them be taken in the devices that they have conceived. For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, And the covetous renounceth, yea , contemneth Jehovah. The wicked, in the pride of his countenance,'saith , He will not require it . And Jehovah said, Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language; and this is what they begin to do: and now nothing will be withholden from them, which they purpose to do.

He deviseth iniquity upon his bed; He setteth himself in a way that is not good; He abhorreth not evil.

They encourage themselves in an evil purpose; They commune of laying snares privily; They say, Who will see them? They search out iniquities; We have accomplished,'say they , a diligent search: And the inward thought and the heart of every one is deep.

In whose heart is perverseness, Who deviseth evil continually, Who soweth discord.

Deceit is in the heart of them that devise evil; But to the counsellors of peace is joy.

Do they not err that devise evil? But mercy and truth'shall be to them that devise good.
