And we are writing all this to you that our joy may be complete. This, then, is the message that we have heard from him, and are announcing to you, that God is light, and no darkness what ever is in him.

The unveiling apocalypse of Jesus Christ which God gave him to show to his slaves the things which must soon come to pass; and he sent and made it known by his angel to his slave John. He bore witness of the Word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, even of all the things that he saw. Blessed is he who reads, and they who hear the words of the prophecy, and keep what is written in it. For the crisis is at hand.

And he said to me, Write, "Blessed are those who have been bidden to the marriage supper of the Lamb." And he said to me, "These are true words of God." And I fell down at his feet to worship him, and he said to me. "See that you do it not. I am a fellow slave of yours and of your brothers who hold the testimony of Jesus; for the testimony of Jesus is the vital breath of prophecy."

Then he said to me. "These words may be trusted, and are true. the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his slaves what must soon take place. "And behold, I am coming quickly. Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book." And I, John, am he who heard and saw these things. And after I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me.

I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and I heard a loud voice behind me, like a trumpet, saying, "Write in a book what you see, and send it to the seven churches; to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamos and to Thyatira and Sardis and Philadelphia and Laodicea."

When I saw him, I fell at his feet as one dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying. "Fear not; I am the first and the last, and the Living One. I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore; and hold the keys of death and of Hades.
