And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book and to open its seals, for thou wast killed and hast redeemed to God with thy blood [men] from every tribe and tongue and people and nation,

After this I saw, and behold, a great multitude, which no man could number, of every nation and of all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and having palm branches in their hands;

And they said to me, You must prophesy again before peoples and nations and tongues and many kings.

And the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and a half, and shall not permit their dead bodies to be buried.

And it was given him to make war with the saints and to conquer them, and power was given him over every tribe and people and tongue and nation.

And I saw another angel flying in mid-heaven, having the eternal gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth and to every nation and tribe and tongue and people,

And he said to me, The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples and multitudes and nations and tongues.

There are perhaps as many kinds of voices in the world, and no one is without significance; if therefore I do not know the meaning of the voice, I shall be to him that speaks a barbarian, and he that speaks will be a barbarian to me.

AND when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all with one mind together. and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. And they were astonished and wondered, saying, Are not all these that speak Galileans? And how do we hear each one in our own language in which we were born, Parthians and Medes and Elamites, and those who live in Mesopotamia, Judea, and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Lybia about Cyrene, and the Roman strangers, both Jews and proselytes, Cretes and Arabs, do we hear them speak in our tongues of the great works of God.

While Peter was yet speaking these words the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word. And those of the circumcision who came with Peter were astonished, that on the gentiles also the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out; for they heard them speaking with tongues and magnifying God. Can any forbid water that these should be baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit as we also have? And he commanded that they should be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they desired him to remain some days.

and taking the hand of the little child, he said to her, Talitha cum, which is interpreted, Girl, I tell you arise;

and looking up to heaven he groaned, and said to him, Ephphatha, which is, Be opened.

And he said, Abba, father, all things are possible to thee. Take away this cup from me; but not what I will but what thou wilt.

For you received not the spirit of servitude again to fear, but you received the spirit of adoption, by which we cry; Abba, Father.

If any one is not a friend to the Lord, let him be accursed. The Lord comes.

And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

They had over them a king, an angel of the abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, but in the Greek he is called Apollyon.

And they assembled them in the place called in Hebrew Armagedon.

Many of the Jews therefore read this inscription, because the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh the city; and it was written in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek.

And being about to be carried into the fortress, Paul said to the chiliarch, May I have permission to speak to you? And he said, Do you understand Greek? Are you not the Egyptian who before these days excited a sedition, and led out into the wilderness the four thousand men who were murderers? And Paul said, I am a Jew, of Tarsus of Cilicia, a citizen of a not undistinguished city, I beg of you, permit me to speak to the people.
