And when now he was coming near Jerusalem, and descending the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice, and to praise God with a loud voice for the almighty works they had seen. They cried, "Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in Heaven and glory in the Highest"
Wherefore since we are receiving a kingdom which is unshakable, let us give thanks, and so offer acceptable worship to God, with holy awe and fear, FOR INDEED OUR GOD IS A CONSUMING FIRE.
To this end I am making my constant prayer for you, beseeching God to make you worthy of your calling, and to fulfil mightily every desire of goodness and effort of faith; so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in him, according to the grace of our God and of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I beseech you, beloved, as pilgrims and exiles, to abstain from passions of the flesh that war upon your souls. Let your manner of life before the Gentiles be honest; so that, although they are now slandering you as evil-doers, they may, by beholding your noble conduct, come to glorify God, in the day of visitation.
And in front of the throne as it seemed, a glassy sea like crystal; and in the midst of the throne and encircling it are four Living Creatures, full of eyes before and behind. The first creature was like a lion, and the second like a calf, and the third creature had a face like a man's, and the fourth creature was like an eagle flying. And whenever the Living Creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, to Him who lives forever and ever, the four and twenty Elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne, and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying. "Worthy art thou, our Lord and our God, To receive the glory and the honor and the power; For thou didst create all things, And because of thy will they came into being And were created."
And I saw the semblance of a glassy sea, mingled with fire; and standing by this glassy sea, with harps of God, were those who came off conquerors from the beast and from his image and from the cipher of his name. They were singing the song of Moses, the slave of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying. "Great and marvelous are thy works, O Lord God, the Almighty! Righteous and true are thy ways, Thou King of kings! Who shall not fear, O Lord, And glorify thy name? For thou only art holy. For all the nations shall come and worship before thee; For thy righteous acts have been made evident."
For in his own good time this will be brought about by that blessed and only potentate, King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone possesses immortality, who dwells in light that none can approach, whom no man has ever seen or can see; to whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen.
