And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith to him, Teacher, see! what stones, and what buildings! And Jesus said to him, Seest thou these great buildings? There will not be left one stone upon another, that will not be thrown down.
Jesus saith to them, Did ye never read in the Scriptures, "The stone which the builders rejected, the same hath become the cornerstone; from the Lord did this come, and it is marvelous in our eyes?"
And have ye not read this scripture: "The stone which the builders rejected, the same hath become the cornerstone;
But he, looking upon them, said, What then is this which is written, "The stone which the builders rejected, the same hath become the cornerstone"?
This is the stone which was set at nought by you the builders, which is become a cornerstone.
To you therefore who believe, is the honor; but to the disobedient, "the stone which the builders rejected, the same hath become the cornerstone,"
To whom coming, a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but in the sight of God chosen, honored, be ye yourselves also, as living stones, built up, a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. Because it is contained in the Scripture: "Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, chosen, honored; and he that believeth in him shall not be put to shame."
