And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith to him, Master, see what manner of stones, and what manner of buildings! And Jesus answering said to him, Seest thou these great buildings? There shall not be left one stone upon another that shall not be thrown down.
Jesus saith to them, Have ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, is become the head of the corner? This is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes.
And have ye not read this scripture? The stone which the builders rejected, is become the head of the corner?
And hearing it they said, God forbid. And he looked on them and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, this is become the head of the corner?
This is the stone which was set at nought by you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
Therefore to you who believe, he is precious: but to them who believe not, The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner.
To whom coming as unto a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen of God and precious, Ye also as living stones are built up, a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God thro' Jesus Christ. Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious, and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
