At which time Moses was born; and he was exceedingly beautiful, and was nursed three months in his father's house. But having been exposed, the daughter of Pharaoh took him up, and educated him as her own son. And Moses was instructed in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds.

When he had completed his fortieth year, it came into his heart to visit his brethren, the sons of Israel. And seeing one of them unjustly treated, he defended and avenged him that was oppressed, and smote the Egyptian. And on the next day he showed himself to them, as they were fighting, and endeavored to persuade them to peace, saying, Men, you are brothers: why do you injure one another? But he that was doing the injury to his neighbor, thrust him. away, saying, Who made you a ruler or a judge over us? Do you intend to kill me, as you killed the Egyptian yesterday? And at that saying Moses fled, and became a resident in the land of Midian, where he begot two sons.

By faith they passed through the Bed Sea as by dry land, which the Egyptians attempting to do, were drowned.

And. behold, two men conversed with him, who were Moses and Elijah; they appeared in glory, and spoke of his departure, which he was about to accomplish in Jerusalem. And Peter and those who were with him were heavy with sleep; but having fully awakened, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.
