By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months by his parents, because they saw that he was a beautiful child, and they were not afraid of the king's decree.
In the reign of Herod, King of Judea, there was a certain priest, named Zachariah, belonging to the class of Abijah. He had a wife named Elizabeth, who was a descendant of Aaron. They were both righteous in the sight of the Lord, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the law, blameless. Now they had no child, for Elizabeth was barren, and both were far advanced in years.
But while they were there the days were fulfilled for her delivery. And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger because there was no room for them in the inn.
The birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. After his mother, Mary, had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found to be with child by the Holy Spirit.

Now two days after this there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there; Jesus also was invited to the wedding, and his disciples. And when the wine ran short, Jesus' mother said to him, "They have no wine."read more.
"Woman," said Jesus, "what have you to do with me? My time is not yet come." His mother said to the attendants, "Whatever he may tell you to do, do it."
Now there stood near the cross of Jesus, his mother and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother, and standing near her the disciple whom he loved, he said to his mother, "Woman behold your son." Then he said to the disciple, "Behold your mother." And from that hour the disciple took her to his home.
These all with one mind gave their constant attention to prayer, together with some women, and with Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers.
So, prompted by her mother, the girl said, "Give me at once, upon a dish, the head of John the Baptist."
So she came out and said to her mother, "What shall I ask for?" "The head of John the Baptist," she replied. So she at once hurried in to the king and made her request, "I want you," she said, "to give me, without delay, the head of John the Baptist on a charger."
I have been reminded of that sincere faith which is in your heart; which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice, and, I am fully persuaded, dwells in you also.
