For when we were with you, this we commanded you, If any will not work, neither let him eat.
For a friend of mine on his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him:
And coming to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father have bread enough and to spare, and I am perishing with hunger?
And wine falling short, the mother of Jesus saith to him, They have not wine.
Philip answered him, Two hundred penny-worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that each of them may take a little.
Now there came a famine over all the land of Egypt and Canaan, and great affliction, and our fathers found no sustenance.
And when his disciples were come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread.
Now they had forgotten to take bread; nor had they in the boat with them any more than one loaf.
And they reasoned among themselves, saying, We have no bread. And Jesus knowing it saith to them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? Perceive ye not yet, neither consider? Have ye your heart yet hardened?
Jesus calling his disciples saith to them, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat.
