He answered and said to them, Give ye them to eat. And they say to him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?

Philip answered him, Two hundred penny-worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that each of them may take a little.

For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence and given to the poor. And they murmured at her.

faith, Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?

Behold the hire of your labourers who have reaped your fields, which is kept back by you, crieth: and the cries of them who have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabbaoth.

And having agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard. And going out about the third hour, he saw others standing idle in the market-place. And said to them, Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right, I will give you. And they went.

Masters, give your servants that which is just and equitable, knowing that ye also have a master in heaven.

For when we were with you, this we commanded you, If any will not work, neither let him eat. For we hear there are some among you who walk disorderly, doing nothing, but being busy-bodies. Now such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, to work quietly and eat their own bread.

With good will doing service as unto the Lord, and not to men: Knowing that whatsoever good each man doth, the same shall he receive from the Lord, whether he be a servant or free.

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not to men: Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance;

And the soldiers likewise asked him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said to them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your pay.

And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and hurt not the oil and the wine.

Then Judas who had betrayed him, seeing that he was condemned, repenting himself, brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, Saying, I have sinned, in betraying innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? See thou to it. And having thrown down the pieces of silver in the temple, he withdrew and went and hanged himself.read more.
And the chief priests taking the pieces of silver, said, It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood. And having consulted together, they bought with them the potters field, to bury foreigners in. Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood unto this day. Then was fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value, And gave them for the potters field, as the Lord commanded me.

For the kingdom of heaven is like an housholder, who went out early in the morning, to hire labourers into his vineyard. And having received it, they murmured against the housholder, saying, These last have wrought one hour, and thou hast made them equal to us, who have borne the burden and heat of the day. And he answering said to one of them, Friend, I do thee no wrong. Didst not thou agree with me for a penny? Take what is thine, and go: it is my will, to give to this last, even as to thee? Is it not lawful for me, to do what I will with my own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good? So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many are called, but few chosen.

Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially those who labour in the word and teaching. For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn: and, The labourer is worthy of his reward.

And remain in the same house eating and drinking such things as they have; for the labourer is worthy of his hire: go not from house to house.

And he that reapeth, receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit to life eternal, that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together. And herein is the saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth. I have sent you to reap that whereon ye have bestowed no labour: others have laboured, and ye are entered into their labour.

Who ever warreth at his own charge? Who planteth a vineyard, and doth not eat of its fruit? Or who feedeth a flock, and doth not eat of the milk of the flock? Do I speak these things as a man? Doth not the law also speak the same? For it is written, in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn? Doth God take care for oxen?read more.
Or speaketh he chiefly for our sakes? surely for our sakes it was written: for he who ploweth, ought to plow in hope; and he that thresheth in hope, ought to be a partaker of his hope. If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great matter, if we shall reap your carnal things? If others partake of this power over you, do not we rather? Yet we have not used this power: but we suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ. Know ye not, that they who are employed about holy things, are fed out of the temple? And they who wait at the altar, are partakers with the altar. So also hath the Lord ordained, that they who preach the gospel, should live of the gospel.

Let him that is taught in the word impart to him that teacheth in all good things.

But I have used none of these things; nor have I written thus, that it might be done so unto me: for it were better for me to die, than that any man should make this my glorying void.

Have I committed an offence in humbling myself, that ye might be exalted, because I have preached the gospel of God to you at free cost? I spoiled other churches, taking wages of them, to serve you: and when I was present with you and wanted, I was chargeable to no man. For the brethren who came from Macedonia supplied my want; and I have in all things kept myself from being burdensom, and will keep myself.

But I have all things, and abound: I am filled, having received of Epaphroditus the things which came from you, an odour of a sweet smell, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God.

Be not deceived; God is not mocked; for whatsoever a man soweth, that also shall he reap. For he that soweth to the flesh, shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit, shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. But let us not be weary of well doing; for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.read more.
Therefore as we have opportunity, let us do good unto all men; but especially to them who are of the houshold of faith.

What fruit had ye then from those things whereof ye are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For death is the wages of sin; but eternal life is the gift of God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Receiving the reward of unrighteousness. They count it pleasure to riot in the day time; spots and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings, while they feast with you,

Now to him that worketh, the reward is not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is imputed to him for righteousness.

And when they came who were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every one a penny. But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every one a penny. And having received it, they murmured against the housholder, saying,read more.

And whosoever shall give to drink to one of these little ones a cup of cold water only, in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

because ye belong to Christ, verily I say to you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

If any one's work which he hath built thereon shall remain, he shall receive a reward.

For God is not unrighteous, to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
