Samuel remained in bed until morning. Then he opened the doors of Jehovah's house. But Samuel was afraid to tell Eli about the vision.

In the first month of his first year as king, he opened the doors of Jehovah's temple and repaired them.

I said to them: Do not let the doors of Jerusalem be open till the sun is high and when the watchmen are in their places. Shut the doors and lock them. Let the people of Jerusalem be responsible for the watch, every one in his watch near his house.

Its gates will not close in the daytime and there will be no night there.
