On the first day of the week, very early in the morning while it was still dark, Mary of Magdala went to the tomb, and she saw that the stone had been removed from the tomb.

And they kept saying to one another, "Who will roll the boulder back from the doorway of the tomb for us?" Then they looked up and saw that the boulder had already been rolled to one side, for it was a very large one.

But they found the boulder rolled back from the tomb,

the tombs were opened, and many bodies of saints then sleeping in death rose

And as they could not get him near to Jesus, on account of the crowd, they dug through the roof over the spot where He was standing and let the pallet down that the paralyzed man was lying on.

They passed the first guard, then the second, and at last came to the iron gate which led into the city. The gate of itself opened to them, and they passed out and proceeded one block when all at once the angel left him.

and on recognizing Peter's voice, in her joy she failed to open the door but ran and told them that Peter was standing at the door.

But one of the elders said to me, "Stop weeping! See! The Lion who sprang from the tribe of Judah, who belongs to the line of David, has conquered, so that He can open the book and break its seven seals."

The roll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him, and He unrolled it and found the place where it was written:

But no one in heaven or on earth or underneath the earth could open the book or look into it. Then I began to weep bitterly because no one could be found deserving to open the book or look into it.

Then they sang a new song: "You deserve to take the book and break its seals, because you have been slaughtered, and with your blood have bought men from every tribe, tongue, people, and nation,

And when the Lamb broke the first of the seven seals, I looked and heard one of the four living creatures say with a voice like thunder, "Come!"

When He broke the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!"

When He broke the third seal, I heard the third living creature, say, "Come!" I looked, and a black horse appeared, and its rider was carrying a pair of scales in his hands,

When He broke the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been slaughtered for being faithful to God's message and for the testimony they bore to it.

When He broke the sixth seal, I looked, and there was a great earthquake, and the sun turned black as sackcloth, and the full moon became like blood,

When He broke the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.

I am now standing at the door and knocking. If anyone listens to my voice and opens the door, I will be his guest and feast with him, and he with me.

and be like men waiting for their master when he comes home from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks, they at once may open the door for him.

Then He looked up to heaven and sighed, as He said, "Ephphatha," which means, "Be opened."

But in the night the angel of the Lord threw open the jail doors and let them out, and said to them,

"I know what you are doing. See! I have put before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have but little strength, and yet you have obeyed my message and you have not disowned my name.
