And those who belong to Jesus the Christ have crucified the lower nature with its passions and evil cravings.

For when we were living in accordance with our lower nature, the sinful passions that were aroused by the law were operating in the parts of our bodies to make us bear fruit that leads to death.

But if they do not practice self-control, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to be burning in the fire of passion.

Then evil desire conceives and gives birth to sin, and when sin is completed, it brings forth death.

so that he no longer can spend the rest of his earthly life in harmony with human desires but in accordance with God's will.

This is why God has given them up to degrading passions. For their females have exchanged their natural function for one that is unnatural,

that each man among you should learn to take his own wife out of pure and honorable motives,

You ask and fail to get them, because you ask with evil, selfish motives, to spend them on your pleasures.

and males too have forsaken the natural function of females and been consumed by flaming passion for one another, males practicing shameful vice with other males, and continuing to suffer in their persons the inevitable penalty for doing what is improper.

His disciples recalled that the Scriptures say, "My zeal for your house will consume me!"

After He had suffered, He had shown Himself alive to them, by many convincing proofs, appearing to them through a period of forty days, and telling them the things about the kingdom of God.

As obedient children, stop molding your character by the evil desires you used to cherish when you did not know any better,

never slack in earnestness, always on fire with the Spirit, always serving the Lord,

You must keep on fleeing from the evil impulses of youth, but ever strive for uprightness, faith, love, and peace, in association with those who call upon the Lord with pure hearts.

Then a second angel followed, saying: "She has fallen! Mighty Babylon has fallen, who made all the nations drink the wine of vengeance due her immorality!"

and shouted, "Men, why are you doing this? We are merely men with natures like your own, who are telling you the good news, so that you may turn from these foolish things to the living God, who made heaven and earth and sea and all that they contain.

But anyone is tempted to do evil when he is allured by his own evil desire and enticed by a bait.

For once we too were without understanding, disobedient, misled, habitual slaves to all sorts of passions and pleasures, spending our lives in malice and envy.

So once for all put to death your lower, earthly nature with respect to sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which is real idolatry.

once lived while gratifying the cravings of our lower nature, as we continued to carry out the impulses of our lower nature and its thoughts, and by nature we were exposed to God's wrath, as the rest of mankind.

because they said to you, "In the last times there will be mockers who will live to satisfy their own godless passions."

You must remove all bitterness, rage, anger, loud threats, and insults, with all malice.
