Whenever the living beings moved, the wheels moved, too. Whenever the living beings rose from the earth, the wheels rose also. Whatever direction these spirits went, the wheels would be lifted up along with them, because the wheels were alive. They moved around whenever they wanted to move around, and they stood still whenever they wanted to stand still; and whenever they rose from the earth, the wheels remained close beside them, because the wheels were also alive. There was spread out over the heads of the living beings what looked like a canopy, in outward appearance resembling ice, and underneath the canopy, their wings spread out straight over their heads toward each other. Women received their dead raised back to life. Other people were brutally tortured, but refused to be ransomed, so that they might gain a better resurrection. "I've been very zealous for the LORD God of the Heavenly Armies," he replied. "The Israelis have abandoned your covenant, demolished your altars, executed your prophets with swords, and I that's right, just me! am the only one left. Now they're seeking my life, to get rid of me!"

Moses ascended from the desert plain of Moab toward Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, across from Jericho.
