And the men that laid hold on Jesus, insulted and abused Him; and when they had blind-folded Him, they struck Him on the face, and asked Him, saying, Prophesy who it was that smote thee. And many other things spake they against Him, blaspheming Him.

Then did they spit in his face, and beat Him about the head; and some struck Him with rods, saying, Divine to us, thou Christ, who it is that smote thee.

And they spit upon Him, and blind-folded Him, and then buffeted Him and said to Him, prophesy who it was: and the officers struck him with their rods.

But Herod with his soldiers set Him at nought and insulted Him, and put on Him a gaudy robe, and sent Him back to Pilate.

Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the hall, and gathered the whole band about Him: and when they had stript Him, they covered Him with a scarlet robe; and having platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they bowed the knee before Him in derision, saying, Hail king of the Jews:read more.
and they spit upon Him, and took the reed and struck Him on the head. And after they had thus abused Him, they took off the scarlet robe from Him, and put on Him his own clothes, and led Him away to be crucified.

And the soldiers led Him away into the hall, which is called the Pretorium; and gathered their whole company together: and they clad Him in purple, and platted a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and saluted Him, saying, Hail king of the Jews;read more.
and struck Him on the head with a reed, and spit upon Him, and bowed their knees, and did Him homage. And when they had thus abused Him, they took off the purple from Him, and put his own clothes on Him, and brought Him out to crucify Him.

Then Pilate therefore took Jesus and scourged Him. And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and threw a purple robe about Him, and said, "Hail king of the Jews," and struck Him with their hands.

And they that passed by reviled Him, shaking their heads, and saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it again in three days, save thyself: if thou art the Son of God, come down from the cross. And in like manner the chief priests also insulting Him, with the scribes and elders,read more.
said, He saved others, himself He cannot save: if He be the king of Israel, let Him come down now from the cross, and we will believe Him: He trusted in God, let Him deliver Him now, if He will own Him; for He said, I am the Son of God. And one of the thieves also, that were crucified with Him, cast the same reproach upon Him.

And the chief priests likewise scoffing at Him among themselves, with the scribes, said, He saved others, Himself He cannot save: let Christ,read more.
the king of Israel, come down now from the cross, that we may see and believe in Him. And even they that were crucified with Him, reviled Him.

And the people stood looking on, and even the rulers also with them derided Him, saying, He saved others, let Him save Himself, if He be the Christ the chosen of God. And the soldiers too insulted Him, coming to Him and offering Him vinegar, saying, If thou art the king of the Jews, save thyself.

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all met together with one accord. And suddenly there was a sound from heaven as of a strong rushing wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. He therefore disputed in the synagogue with the Jews and other devout persons on the sabbath-day, and with whomsoever he met in public every day. But some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers encountered him; and some said, What would this babler say? and others, He seemeth to be a proclaimer of foreign deities: because he preached to them Jesus and the resurrection.

And others had the trial of mockings and scourgings, and of bonds too and imprisonment.
