First remove the log out of your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother's eye.

And why do you see the speck of chaff that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you tell your brother, 'Brother, let me remove the speck of chaff that is in your eye,' when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite. First remove the log from your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck of chaff that is in your brother's eye.

"Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.

When a flood arose, the stream broke against that house, and could not shake it, because it had been well built. And it happened, when Jesus had finished saying these things, that the crowds were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them with authority, and not like their scribes.
