Behold therefore, I have stretched out my hand over thee, and have diminished thine ordinary food , and delivered thee unto the will of them that hate thee, the daughters of the Philistines, that are ashamed of thy lewd way.
Then shalt thou remember thy ways, and be ashamed, when thou shalt receive thy sisters, thine elder'sisters and thy younger; and I will give them unto thee for daughters, but not by thy covenant.
that thou mayest remember, and be confounded, and never open thy mouth any more, because of thy shame, when I have forgiven thee all that thou hast done, saith the Lord Jehovah.
Nor for your sake do I this , saith the Lord Jehovah, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel.

for their mother hath played the harlot; she that conceived them hath done shamefully; for she said, I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, mine oil and my drink.
And when Moses saw that the people were broken loose, (for Aaron had let them loose for a derision among their enemies,)
The wind shall feed all thy shepherds, and thy lovers shall go into captivity: surely then shalt thou be ashamed and confounded for all thy wickedness.
Thou hast devised shame to thy house, by cutting off many peoples, and hast sinned against thy soul.
Poverty and shame'shall be to him that refuseth correction; But he that regardeth reproof shall be honored.
He that gathereth in summer is a wise son; But he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.
And the steward said within himself, What shall I do, seeing that my lord taketh away the stewardship from me? I have not strength to dig; to beg I am ashamed.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the prophets shall be ashamed every one of his vision, when he prophesieth; neither shall they wear a hairy mantle to deceive:
And if they would learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home: for it is shameful for a woman to speak in the church.
Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a dishonor to him?
for the things which are done by them in secret it is a shame even to speak of.
