But know this, that, had the householder known at what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken through. Therefore, be ye also ready; for, in an hour that ye think not, the Son of Man is coming.

And, disagreeing among themselves, they were departing, when Paul uttered one declaration, "Well did the Holy Spirit speak through Isaiah, the prophet, to your fathers, saying, 'Go your way to this people, and say, With hearing ye shall hear, but in no wise understand; and, looking, ye shall look, and in no wise see; for the heart of this people was made gross; and with their ears they heard heavily; and their eyes they closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should turn, and I should heal them.'
as it has been written, "God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, unto this day."
And this, knowing the season, that it is time already for you to be aroused out of sleep; for now is our salvation nearer than when ye believed. The night was far spent, and the day has drawn near; let us, therefore, put off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.
Wherefore, He saith: "Awake, you who are sleeping; and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine upon you!"
Become watchful, and strengthen the things that remain, which were about to die; for I have not found your works complete before My God.
"Behold, I come as a thief! Happy is he that is watching, and keeping his garments; that he walk not naked, and they see his shame."
Watch, and pray, that ye enter not into temptation. The spirit, indeed, is willing, but the flesh is weak."
But concerning that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in Heaven, nor the Son, but the Father. Take heed, watch [and pray]; for ye know not when the time is. It is as when a man away from home, having left his house, and having given authority to his servants, to each his work, commanded also the porter to watch.
with all prayer and supplication praying at every opportunity in the Spirit, and watching thereunto in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints;
So, then, let us not sleep as do the rest, but let us watch and be sober. For those who sleep sleep at night, and those who are drunken are drunken at night. But let us, being of the day, be sober, having put on a breast-plate of faith and love; and, as a helmet, a hope of salvation;
Be sober, be watchful. Your adversary the Devil, as a roaring lion, is going about, seeking whom he may devour;
