Then Judas having taken a band of soldiers, and the inferior officers of the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and arms.

The band therefore, and the chief captain, and the inferior officers of the Jews, seized on Jesus, and bound him,

Then the soldiers led him to the hall, which is the Praetorium, and called together the whole band.

Thereupon the soldiers of the governor taking Jesus away to the Praetorium, gathered around him the whole band:

Then Herod with his guards treated him with contempt, and in derision clothed him in a splendid robe, and sent him back to Pilate.

and stripping him, put about him a scarlet cloak. And platting a crown of thorns, they placed it on his head, and a cane in his right hand: and bowing the knee before him, mocked him, saying, Hail, king of the Jews! And spitting upon him, they took the cane, and struck him upon his head.read more.
