But do thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and, when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father who is in secret; and thy Father, who seeth in secret, will reward thee.
But so much the more went abroad the report concerning him; and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed of their infirmities. But he was wont to withdraw to desert places, and pray.
And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into the mountain to pray; and he continued all night in prayer to God.
And when it was day, he went out, and betook himself to a desert place; and the multitudes went in search of him; and they came to him, and would have prevented him from leaving them.
And he saith to them, Come ye by yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while. For there were many coming and going; and they had no leisure, even to eat.
And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into the mountain apart to pray. And when evening came, he was there alone.
And the apostles gather together to Jesus, and told him all which they had done and taught.
And he came a little nearer, and fell on his face, praying and saying, Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me! nevertheless, not as I will, but as Thou wilt.
And rising early, long before day, he went out, and withdrew into a desert place, and there prayed.
And he immediately constrained his disciples to get into the boat, and to go before to the other side to Bethsaida, while he sent the multitude away. And when he had taken leave of them, he went away into the mountain to pray.
I John, your brother, and companion in the affliction and kingdom and endurance in Jesus, was in the isle that is called Patmos, on account of the word of God, and the testimony of Jesus.
