The unspiritual man rejects the teachings of God's Spirit; for him it is folly. He cannot understand it, for it is spiritually discerned,

And the light is shining in the darkness, and the darkness has not overwhelmed it

Some of the Pharisees who were with him heard this and asked, "We are not blind, are we?" "If you were blind," Jesus answered them, "you would have no sin. But now you are declaring, 'We see'; so your sin remains.

"This is why I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.

He answered. "To you it is given to understand the mysteries of the kingdom of God; But all others are taught in parables so that seeing they shall not see, and hearing they shall not hear.
