But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit; for they are foolishness to him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

And the light shineth in darkness, but the darkness perceived it not.

And some of the Pharisees that were with him heard this, and said to him, Are we blind also? Jesus said to them, If ye had been blind, ye would have had no sin. But now ye say, We see: therefore your sin remaineth.

Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they see not, and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

And he said, To you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to others in parables, so that seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not understand.
