When the governor of the feast had tasted the water that had been made wine, (and he knew not whence it was, but the servants that had drawn the water knew,) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, and said to him:
If, then, you have died with Christ from the elements of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you submit to ordinances? Touch not, taste not, handle not, (all of which are for the destruction of those who use them,) according to the commandments and teachings of men;
For it is impossible to renew again to repentance those who have once been enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the coming age,
And I went to the angel, and said to him: Give me the little book. And he said to me: Take it, and eat it up, and it will make your stomach bitter, but it will be in your mouth as sweet as honey. And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up, and it was in my mouth as sweet as honey; and when I had eaten it, my stomach was bitter.
You are the salt of the earth: but if the salt has become tasteless, by what means shall it become salt again? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trod upon by men.
Salt is good; but if the salt become taste less, by what means shall it become salt again? It is fit neither for earth, nor for manure; but they cast it out. He that has ears to hear, let him hear.
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, that he might, by the grace of God, taste death for every man- we see him, on account of his having suffered death, crowned with glory and honor.
Verily I say to you, There are some standing here that shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
And he said to them: Verily I say to you, There are some of these standing here who shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God come in power.
But I say to you, of a truth, there are some of these who stand here that shall not taste of death till they see the kingdom of God.
Then said the Jews to him: Now we know that you have a demon. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and you say, If a man keep my word, he shall never taste of death.
For I say to you, that not one of those men who have been invited, shall taste of my supper.
and I appoint to you a kingdom, as my Father has appointed to me, that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
And they went to the chief priests and elders, and said: We have surely bound ourselves under a curse, that we will taste nothing till we have killed Paul.
