Then was Jesus led by the spirit into the wilderness, to be tempted by the devil: and when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, at last He was very hungry.

and He was there in the wilderness forty days tempted by Satan, and among the wild beasts: and angels ministred unto Him.

Now Jesus being full of the holy Spirit, returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being forty days tempted by the devil; and He did eat nothing in all those days: and when they were ended, at last He was hungry.

And about forty years He bare with their behaviour in the wilderness.

And then they desired a king: and God gave them Saul the Son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for the space of forty years.
