Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it. Do not say to your neighbor, "Go, and come again; tomorrow I will give it to you," when you have it by you.

There is one who scatters, and increases yet more. There is one who withholds more than is appropriate, but gains poverty.

Do not eat the food of him who has a stingy eye, and do not crave his delicacies: for as he thinks about the cost, so he is. "Eat and drink." he says to you, but his heart is not with you. The morsel which you have eaten you shall vomit up, and lose your good words.

A stingy man hurries after riches, and doesn't know that poverty waits for him.

Remember this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly. He who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

He said to them, "Beware. Keep yourselves from all covetousness, for a man's life does not consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses."

You shall eat, but not be satisfied. Your humiliation will be in your midst. You will store up, but not save; and that which you save I will give up to the sword.

He spoke a parable to them, saying, "The ground of a certain rich man brought forth abundantly. He reasoned within himself, saying, 'What will I do, because I do not have room to store my crops?' He said to his disciples, "Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious for your life, what you will eat, nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing. Consider the ravens: they do not sow, they do not reap, they have no warehouse or barn, and God feeds them. Which of you by being anxious can add a cubit to his height? If then you are not able to do even the least things, why are you anxious about the rest? Consider the lilies, how they grow. They do not toil, neither do they spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if this is how God clothes the grass in the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith? Do not seek what you will eat or what you will drink; neither be anxious. For the nations of the world seek after all of these things, but your Father knows that you need these things. But seek his Kingdom, and these things will be added to you.

Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they do not sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns, and your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of much more value than they? "And which of you, by being anxious, can add one cubit to his height?read more.
And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They do not toil, neither do they spin, yet I tell you that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won't he much more clothe you, you of little faith? "Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Not many days after, the younger son gathered all of this together and traveled into a far country. There he wasted his property with riotous living.

He who loves pleasure shall be a poor man. He who loves wine and oil shall not be rich.

Do not be among ones drinking too much wine, or those who gorge themselves on meat: for the drunkard and the glutton shall become poor; and drowsiness clothes them in rags.

Whoever loves wisdom brings joy to his father; but a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth.

He also said to his disciples, "There was a certain rich man who had a manager. An accusation was made to him that this man was wasting his possessions.

"Do not lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves do not break through and steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise; redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Wise men lay up knowledge, but the mouth of the foolish is near ruin.

But according to your hardness and unrepentant heart you are storing up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; who "will pay back to everyone according to their works:"

to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality -- eternal life. But to those who are self-seeking, and do not obey the truth, but obey wickedness -- wrath and anger, suffering and distress, on every soul of man who does evil, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.read more.
But glory, honor, and peace for everyone who does good, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Return to her just as she returned, and repay her double as she did, and according to her works. In the cup which she mixed, mix to her double.
