The kingdom of the heavens is like unto a treasure having been hidden in a field; which a man having found, concealed; and from his joy he goes and sells all things so many as he has, and buys that field. Again, the kingdom of the heavens is like unto a man seeking beautiful pearls: and having found one pearl of great price, having gone away he sold all things, so many as he had, and bought it.

Therefore the kingdom of the heavens is like unto a kingly man, who wished to make a reckoning with his servants.

The kingdom of the heavens is like a king-man, who made a marriage for his son.

And He said to him, A certain man made a great supper, and invited many;

For as a man going away, called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods,

Then He said, A certain nobleman went to a far country, to receive for himself a kingdom, and return.

He spake a parable to them, saying, The farm of a certain rich man was very productive:

And He said, A certain man had two sons. And the younger of them said to the father, Father, give to me the portion of the estate that falls to me. And he immediately divided unto them his living. And not many days afterward the younger son gathering all together, departed into a far-off country; and there wasted his substance living riotously.

And He also spoke to His disciples, There was a certain rich man, who had a steward; and he was slandered to him as wasting his goods.

Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.

Charge the rich in this world not to think high things, nor to hope in uncertain riches, but in God, who richly supplies us all things for our enjoyment;

Because you are saying, That I am rich, and have increased in riches, and have need as to nothing, and do you not know that you are miserable, and pitiful, and poor, and blind, and naked?

Therefore I say unto you, Be not solicitous for your soul what you may eat, nor for your body what you may put on. Is not your soul more valuable than food, and your body than raiment? Look unto the fowls of heaven, how they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; and your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are you not more excellent than they? And which one of you being solicitous is able to add one moment to his existence?read more.
And why are you solicitous concerning raiment? Know the lilies of the field how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin. But I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed as one of these. But if God so clothed the verdure of the field, existing today and tomorrow cast into the oven, how much more you, O ye of little faith? Therefore be not solicitous, saying, What can we eat? or what can we drink? or with what can we be clothed? For after all these things the heathen were seeking; for your heavenly Father knoweth that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Therefore be not solicitous unto the morrow: for the morrow will be solicitous for itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

And He spoke to His disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Be not solicitous for your soul, what you may eat; nor for your body, what you may put on. The soul is more than food, and the body more than raiment. Observe the ravens, because they neither sow nor reap; to which there is no storehouse nor barn, and God feeds them; are you not much better than the fowls?read more.
And which one of you being solicitous is able to add one moment to his existence? If then you are powerless in the smallest matter, why are you solicitous about other things? And he said, I will do this: I will take down my barns, and build greater, and there I will gather all my fruits and my goods.read more.
And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, be merry. But God said to him, Thou fool, this night they are demanding thy soul from thee; and to whom shall those things which thou hast prepared, belong? So is every one laying up treasure for himself, and not rich toward God.

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust corrupt, and thieves break through and steal:

for because we have brought nothing into the world, we are not able to carry any thing out;

and the rich man, in his humility: because as the flower of the grass he will pass away. For the sun with a scorching wind has risen, and dried up the grass, and its flower fell off, and the beauty of its countenance perished: so indeed the rich man will pass away in his ways.

And Jesus said to His disciples, Truly I say unto you, that a rich man will hardly enter into the kingdom of the heavens. And again I say to you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to go into the kingdom of God. And the disciples hearing, were astonished exceedingly, saying, Who then is able to be saved?read more.
And Jesus looking on them said; With men this is impossible; but all things are possible with God.

And Jesus looking around, says to His disciples; How hardly shall those having riches enter into the kingdom of God! And the disciples were astonished at His words, and Jesus again responding, says to them, Children, how difficult it is to enter into the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to go into the kingdom of God.read more.
And they were astonished exceedingly, saying to one another, And who is able to be saved? And Jesus looking upon them says, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for all things are possible with God.

Jesus seeing him said, How hardly will those having riches enter into the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to go into the kingdom of God. And those hearing said, And who is able to be saved?read more.
And He said, Those things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

But the one sown among the thorns, is he who heareth the word; and the care of this age, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke out the word, and he becomes unfruitful.

and others are those who are sown among the thorns; they are those hearing the word, and the cares of the age, and the deceitfulness of riches, and desires concerning other things coming into them, choke out the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

And that which falleth among thorns, there are those who hear, and going forward, by the cares and riches and pleasures are choked out, and bring forth no fruit to perfection.

Behold, one coming to Him said, Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do, in order that I may have eternal life? And He said to him, Why do you ask me concerning the good One? One is good. If you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments. He says to Him, What? And Jesus said to him, Thou shalt not murder, thou shalt not commit adultery, thou shalt hot steal, thou shalt not bear false witness,read more.
honor the father and the mother, and thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. The young man says to Him, All these have I kept from my youth: what lack I yet? Jesus said to him, If you wish to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. And the young man hearing the word, went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

And He traveling along the road, one having run to Him and worshiping Him, asked Him, Good Teacher, what shall I do in order that I may inherit eternal life? And Jesus said to him, Why do you call me good? No one is good but One, God. And a certain ruler asked Him, saying, Good Teacher, having done what, shall I inherit eternal life? And Jesus said to him, Why do you call me good? No one is good, except One, God. And he said, All these things have I kept from my youth. And Jesus hearing these things, said to him, Still one thing is lacking to thee: Sell all things whatsoever you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. And hearing these things, he went away very sorrowful; for he was exceedingly rich.

He filled the poor with good things, and sent away the rich empty.

Come now, ye rich, weep mourning over your calamities which are coming on you. Your riches are corrupted, and your garments have become moth-eaten: your gold and your silver are cankered; and their rust shall be for a witness against you, and eat your flesh like fire. You laid up treasures in the last days.read more.
Behold, the wages of the laborers having reaped your fields, which is fraudulently kept back by you, is crying out: and the voices of the reapers have come into the ears of the Lord of hosts.

You have dishonored the poor. Do not the rich domineer over you, and drag you into courts?

You condemned, you murdered the righteous; nothing antagonizes you.

Ye flourished upon the earth, and were wanton; you nourished your hearts in the day of slaughter.

There was a certain rich man, and he was habitually clothed in purple and fine linen, faring sumptuously every day. But a certain beggar, Lazarus by name, was laid at his gate, full of sores, and desiring to be fed by the crumbs falling from the table of the rich man; but the dogs also coming continued to lick his sores.read more.
And it came to pass that the beggar died, and himself was carried by the angels into the bosom of Abraham: and the rich man also died, and was buried. And in Hades lifted up his eyes, being in torment, sees Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he calling said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue, because I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Child, remember that you received your good things in your life, and Lazarus likewise evil things: but now he is comforted, and you are tormented. And in addition to all these things, there is a great gulf fixed between us and you, in order that those wishing to go hence to you may not be able, neither can they come thence to us. And he said, Moreover I intreat you, father, that you may send him to the house of my father: for I have five brothers; in order that he may testify to them, that they may not also come to this place of the torment. But Abraham says, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. But he said, No, father Abraham: but if one may go to them from the dead, they will repent. But he said to him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, they will not be persuaded if one may rise from the dead.

Do they not blaspheme the good name which has been called upon you?

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust corrupt, and thieves break through and steal: but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not corrupt, and thieves do not break through and steal: for where your treasure is, there will be your heart also.

And do not seek what you may eat, and what you may drink, and with what you are clothed; for the heathens of the world are seeking after all these things: but your Father knows that you have need of these things. Moreover seek His kingdom and these things shall be added unto you.

laying up for themselves a good foundation for the future, that they may lay hold on the life which is life indeed.

that they do good, be rich in good works, be cheerful givers, ready communicators;

Jesus said to him, If you wish to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

And Jesus hearing these things, said to him, Still one thing is lacking to thee: Sell all things whatsoever you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

And responding he says to them, Let the one having two coats, give to him having none, and let the one having food do likewise.

Therefore give alms of your substance; and behold all things are pure unto you.
