12 Bible Verses about Travail

My children, for whom I again travail until Christ should be formed in you,

He shall see the fruit of the travail of His soul. He shall be fully satisfied. By His knowledge shall My righteous Servant justify for many; and He shall bear their iniquities.

Fear took hold on them there, and pain, like a woman in labor.

The woman has grief when she bears, because her hour has come. But when she brings forth the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, because of the joy that a man is born into the world.

Before she travailed, she gave birth; before her pain came, she delivered a man child. Who has heard a thing like this? Who has seen things like these? Will the earth be brought forth in one day? Or will a nation be born at once? For Zion travailed and also brought forth her sons.

Now why do you cry aloud? Is there no king among you? Has your counselor perished? For pangs have taken you like one giving birth. Be in pain and deliver, daughter of Zion, like one giving birth. For now you shall go out from the city, and you shall dwell in the field; and you shall go to Babylon. There you shall be snatched back; there Jehovah shall redeem you from the hand of your enemies.

Therefore He will give them over until the time the one giving birth has given birth; then the rest of His brothers shall return to the sons of Israel.

And we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now.

For what has man from all his labor, and from the troubling of his heart, in which he has labored under the sun?

For who knows what is good for man in life, all the days of his vain life which he spends as a shadow? For who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun?
