And they went out into the fields and gathered in their grapes and trod them and made merry: and went into the house of their God, and did eat and drink and cursed Abimelech.

At the same time saw I some treading wine presses on the Sabbath and bringing in clusters, and asses laden with wine, grapes, figs, and bringing all manner of burdens unto Jerusalem, upon the Sabbath day. And I rebuked them earnestly the same day that they sold the victuals.

The poor are fain to labour in their oil mills, yea and to tread in their wine presses, and yet to suffer thirst.

Lay to your scythes, for the harvest is ripe. Come, get you down: the winepress is full, yea the winepresses run over, for their wickedness is waxen great.

And they took two captains of the Midianites, Oreb and Zeeb, and slew Oreb upon the rock Oreb, and Zeeb at the press Zeeb and followed after Midian. And brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon on the other side Jordan.

Mirth and cheer was gone out of the field and vineyards, insomuch that no man was glad nor sung. There went no treader into the winepress, their merry cheer was laid down.

Wherefore then is thy clothing red, and thy raiment like his that treadeth in the winepress? "I have trodden the press myself alone, and of all people, there was not one with me. Thus have I trodden down mine enemies in my wrath, and set my feet upon them in my indignation: And their blood sprang upon my clothes, and so have I stained all my raiment.

And the angel thrust in his sickle on the earth, and cut down the grapes of the vineyard of the earth: and cast them into the great wine-vat of the wrath of God, and the wine-vat was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the fat, even unto the horse bridles by the space of a a thousand and six hundred furlongs.

Therefore shall they no more enjoy the corn floors and winepresses, and their sweet wine shall fail them.

Thou shalt sow, but not reap; thou shalt press out olives, but oil shalt thou not have to anoint thyself withal; thou shalt tread out sweet must, but shall drink no wine.

Men shall go about the whole earth, as upon a field: from Geba to Rimmon, and from the south to Jerusalem. She shall be set up, and inhabited in her place: from Benjamin's port, unto the place of the first port, and unto the corner port: and from the tower of Hananel, unto the king's wine presses.

"Hearken another similitude. There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and made a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a strange country:

And he began to speak unto them in similitudes. "A certain man planted a vineyard, and compassed it with a hedge, and ordained a winepress, and built a tower in it, and let it out to hire unto husbandmen, and went into a strange country.

And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire, and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, and said, "Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the earth: for her grapes are ripe."

and out of his mouth went out a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the heathen. And he shall rule them with a rod of iron, and he trod the wine-vat of fierceness and wrath of almighty God.
